How much does it cost to rent a car?

Rental rates vary depending on the vehicle type, rental length and time of year. Our online booking system provides real-time pricing quotes based on your selected dates and vehicle. Are there any age or other restrictions on who can rent a car?

You must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old to rent from Summit Auto Rentals. Renters aged 21–24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge. All drivers must provide proof of insurance. Additional drivers can be added if they meet the same requirements.

Are insurance and roadside assistance included in the rental cost?

Basic roadside assistance is included with every rental at no extra charge. Optional insurance packages, such as liability coverage, collision damage waivers and supplemental liability, are available for an additional fee and can be selected during the booking process. We recommend checking your personal auto insurance policy before purchasing additional coverage.

What are the fuel and mileage policies?

Our rentals come with a full-to-full fuel policy: you will receive the car with a full tank and must return it with the same level to avoid refueling fees. Mileage is unlimited within our standard service area (Metro Detroit and nearby states). For long-distance or out-of-state travel, mileage limits and additional charges may apply. Please let us know your travel plans during booking so we can recommend the best option for your needs.
